The Superb Estate scooped two awards yesterday (11 May). First it was named Best Estate Car 2011 by Diesel Car magazine, then it picked up the award for Best Estate Car in the 2011 Fleet World Honours.

This is the second year in a row that the popular and versatile Superb Estate has won the Diesel Car award – proof of the car’s remarkable staying power.

“The big Czech is our favourite estate because it shows emphatically just how clever car packaging can be,” said Editor Ian Robertson. “It superbly marries nimble road manners, robust performance and great value for money with one of the biggest boots and largest cargo bays around.”

After picking up the Fleet World award at London’s Royal Automobile Club, Škoda UK’s Head of Fleet Sales Martin Burke said: “Our drive to impress corporate users with cars that offer a blend of high specification, low running costs, high standards of quality and excellent environmental performance is paying dividends. We believe there’s no better example of that than the Škoda Superb Estate.”

The Fleet World Honours are presented annually to motor manufacturers, service companies and individuals who have, in the opinion of the judges, achieved the highest possible levels of excellence in their sectors. The jury panel is chaired by Steve Moody, Editor of Fleet World, and includes other experts from the magazine’s editorial team.

Diesel Car’s awards are judged by a panel of experts across 10 categories and are based on road test ratings achieved by the magazine’s staff.
